  • Pourquoi proposez-vous des visites à pied gratuites?
    Le concept a du succès partout dans le monde. Je pense que tout le monde peut être un ambassadeur de sa ville. C’est formidable d’apprendre et de partager de nouvelles choses avec un guide local passionné par sa ville. Le seul salaire que je gagne provient des pourboires. Cette visite est basée uniquement sur des pourboires! La ville ne me paie pas pour faire ce travail. Si vous aimez la tournée, vous donnez ce que vous voulez. Si vous avez un budget serré, pas de problème! Soyez donc certain que je ferai de mon mieux pour faire de la visite le point culminant de votre voyage! (10-20$) la contribution reste volontaire tout le long de la visite.
  • Où les visites commencent et se terminent?
    Visite du Vieux-Québec Vous rencontrez votre guide devant le bâtiment du Parlement à la fontaine de Tourny. La visite se termine au quartier de la Place Royale (à 15 min du point de départ). Veuillez venir au moins 10 minutes avant l'heure prévue. Québec comme un local Vous rencontrez votre guide devant la gare du palais à la fontaine. La visite se termine près de la rue Saint Vallier (à environ 15 minutes du point de départ). Veuillez venir au moins 10 minutes avant l'heure prévue. * Veuillez noter que les heures de visite sont susceptibles de changer en de rares occasions. Les visites sont rarement annulées en raison de la météo (il doit s'agir d'une pluie très forte); vous serez informé si tel est le cas. Je ne fais jamais de no-shows, si vous arrivez en retard et que vous ne voyez pas le groupe devant la fontaine, ce n’est pas ma responsabilité.
  • Dois-je faire une réservation?
    Oui, les réservations sont obligatoires, vous devez réserver votre visite. Les visites en français seront de retour en 2025 Habituellement, chaque visite a un maximum de 20 personnes *Je prends les réservations directement sur ce site. C'est vraiment rare que j'annule la tournée mais dans le cas où je n'ai pas assez de monde je vous en informerai la veille! Nous vous informerons toujours si une visite est annulée ou non, veuillez donc vérifier votre courrier électronique fréquemment.
  • Une visite peut-elle être annulée en raison de la météo?
    Veuillez noter que les heures de visite sont susceptibles de changer en de rares occasions. Les visites sont rarement annulées en raison de la météo (il doit s'agir d'une pluie très forte); vous serez informé si tel est le cas. Habituellement, j'annule à peine! :) Je ne fais jamais de non-présentation, si vous arrivez en retard et que vous ne voyez pas le groupe devant la fontaine (ou le lieu de rendez-vous spécifique), ce n’est pas ma responsabilité.
  • Offrez-vous des visites privées ou des visites de groupes?
    Oui, vous pouvez! Pour une visite privée de moins de 8 personnes, le tarif est de 180 $ (taxes incluses) . ISi je suis disponible, ce sera un plaisir. Contactez-nous pour plus d'informations!
  • Pourquoi il y a un frais de 4$ pour réservation sur la visite gratuite
    Lors de la réservation de la visite guidée gratuite, veuillez noter qu'il y a des frais nominaux de 3,48 $ plus les taxes de vente (4 $). Ce montant est essentiel non seulement pour l'entretien et l'amélioration de mon site web et de mon système de réservation, mais aussi comme garantie pour votre place réservée, tout en aidant à réduire les absences non annoncées. Veuillez noter que les frais de réservation ne font pas partie du don remis au guide à la fin de la visite. ​ En participant à la visite, vous n'explorez pas seulement l'histoire riche et la culture de notre ville, mais une portion du frais de réservation est destinée à soutenir la communauté locale! Une portion est dirigé vers le soutien d'une organisation à but non lucratif locale que je soutiens fièrement, La Bouchée Généreuse à Limoilou. ​ La Bouchée Généreuse s'engage à combattre l'insécurité alimentaire et les inégalités sociales au sein de notre communauté. Leurs efforts incluent des initiatives telles que les programmes de recyclage alimentaire, les épiceries communautaires, les services d'opticiens et les friperies, qui offrent un soutien essentiel à plus de 1 000 familles dans le besoin. De plus, en encourageant l'intégration sociale et la francisation à travers le bénévolat, ils contribuent également à renforcer le tissu social de notre communauté. ​ Votre contribution à travers les frais de réservation soutient non seulement notre communauté locale, mais aide également les nouveaux arrivants à s'établir ici.   • Why do you offer free walking tours?
    The concept is successful all around the globe. I think everybody can be an ambassador of their city. It’s great to learn from and share new things with a local guide who is passionate about his city. The only pay I earn is from tips. This tour is tip-based only! The city doesn’t pay me for doing this job. The covid hit hard my business. Usually people give between 10-20$ by persons...but at the end is up to you. ​ If you like the tour, you can give what you want. If you are on tight budget,no problem ! So be certain that I will do my best to make the tours the highlight of your trip! You have nothing to lose
  • Where the tours start and finish?
    Old Quebec city tour You meet your guide in front of the Parlement building at the fountain of Tourny. The tour ends at the Place Royale area (15 mins from the starting point). You will need to book your tour in advance. **Why is reservation necessary?** In the past, we didn't require reservations, and there were times when I arrived at the meeting point, but no one showed up. To ensure that there will be participants on the tour, I now require reservations. **Is there a limit on the number of participants per tour?** Each tour has a maximum capacity of 20 people. Occasionally, I can accommodate a few more participants, especially after rainy days when there is higher demand.But remember I do tour under the rain and they might be the most memorable. **Why can I only book a maximum of 4 tickets at a time?** We limit bookings to a maximum of 4 tickets per person to accommodate those who may not show up for the tour. This policy helps ensure that everyone has a fair chance to join the tours. **What should I keep in mind when booking multiple tours for consecutive days?** If you plan to stay in the area for several days, please refrain from booking tours for 3-4 consecutive days. Similar to buying movie tickets for multiple showtimes in advance, we kindly request that you avoid overbooking and potentially taking spots from others. If you need to change schedule let me know and DO NOT rebook without writing me back otherwise I might remove all the reservation. **How can I make a reservation?** You can make reservations directly through this website. **What if a tour is canceled due to low attendance?** While tour cancellations are rare, in the unlikely event that we don't have enough participants, we will notify you one day in advance. Please check your email regularly for updates. Im committed to providing you with a great walking tour experience, and I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with the reservation policies.
  • Why there a 4$ booking fee for the free walking tour?
    When booking the free walking tour, please note there's a nominal fee of 4$ ($3.49 + plus sales taxes TPS 5% 0.17$ / TVQ 9.97% 0.35$) This fee is not only vital for the upkeep and enhancement of my website and booking system but also acts as a guarantee for your reserved spot while helping to minimize no-shows. Please note that the booking fee is not part the donation to the guide at the end of the tour. By participating in the tour, you're not just embarking on a journey through our city's rich history and culture but it also making a meaningful contribution to our community. A portion of the booking fee is intended to support the local community! A donation will be done at the end of the year supporting a local nonprofit organization I proudly endorse called La Bouchée Généreuse in Limoilou. La Bouchée Généreuse is dedicated to addressing food insecurity and social inequality within our community. Through various initiatives such as food recycling programs, community grocery stores, optician services, and thrift shops, they provide essential support to over 1,000 families in need. Your contribution through the booking fee not only supports our local community but also helps newcomers establish themselves here. Thank you for being part of our tour, and at the end of the year, your donation will be given. Recognizing that not everyone has the opportunity to travel, your participation in our tour allows us to lend a helping hand to those in need, ensuring that the positive impact of tourism reaches even those who may not have the chance to explore.
  • Can a tour be cancel due to the weather?
    Please note that the tour hours are subject to change on rare occasions. Tours are rarely canceled due to weather (it must be a really heavy rain); you will be informed if this is the case. Usualy I barely cancel! I never do no-shows, if you arrive late and you don’t see the group in front of the fountain (or specific meeting location), it is not my responsibility. Also,be prepared and dress well.Most of the tours doesn't have an indoor stop.
  • Can I ask for a private tour or groups tour?
    Yes you can! For a private tour of less than 8 peoples the fee is 180$. There is a fee for any requested group tour (competitive price). If I’m available, it will be a pleasure. Contact us for more information!
  • Is it wheelchair/stroller friendly?
    Yes! The tours in Quebec City are Wheelchair / Stroller accessible. I do many tour with familly. "We had a toddler in a stroller with us, and Sam, the guide, was very considerate. Strongly recommended." "I would highly recommend Sam to anyone. If you are pushing a stroller or wheelchair though, mention to Sam you will meet him at the bottom as you take the funicular when the rest of the group uses the stairs to go to the lower town." **Is the walking tour wheelchair-friendly?** Yes, my walking tours in Quebec City are wheelchair and stroller accessible, and I happily welcome families to join me. **What should you know about accessibility during the tour?** Quebec City is known for its charming but hilly terrain. While I make every effort to create an accessible tour route and avoid stairs, there may still be some challenging sections, like the côte de la montagne leading to the lower town. For those with strollers or wheelchairs, there is an alternative option available. When we arrive near Château Frontenac, you have the choice to take the funicular (for a fee of $5) to reach the lower town. If the funicular happens to be closed, I'll provide guidance on the best route. We will meet up with the rest of the group at the bottom. Please note that while some hills are manageable with a stroller, they might be more challenging with a wheelchair. When the funicular is in operation, it's a convenient way to ensure everyone can enjoy the lower town with the rest of the group. I do my best to remember and point out these details along the way, but it's essential that participants are aware of potential obstacles and are prepared to navigate them. While I aim to provide an inclusive experience, I'm unable to offer personal pushing services for strollers or wheelchairs. Managing the group and ensuring a smooth tour are my priorities, and my driving skills, well, they're a work in progress ;) . **Disclaimer:** I would like to emphasize that while I strive to provide a safe and enjoyable walking tour experience, I am not responsible for any injuries that may occur during the tour. It's important to note that, to date, there have been no reported injuries on my tours. On super warm day bring your water,I try to add time once a while to fill back your bottle. Your participation in the tour signifies your acknowledgment and acceptance of this disclaimer. Your safety is a top priority, and I appreciate your understanding.   • Can I call the guide and ask them to share their location in case of my late arrival?
    Guide do not answer phone calls or messages during the tour, as it can compromise the tour's quality. If you're running more than 10 minutes late, please consider joining another time. You can send email before the tour to let me know.
  • Can a guide wait for me if I am late?
    Unfortunately, I cannot hold up the entire group for late arrivals. If you're more than 5 minutes late, please consider canceling your reservation or rescheduling for a different time slot. However, if you’ve contacted me in advance and I’ve approved it, we can discuss it on a case-by-case basis.
