First-Time Visitors: Discover More on This Walking Tour of Quebec City
Quebec City is a destination like no other. With its cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, and rich history, it’s no wonder it bring travelers from around the world. But if you're visiting for the first time, you’ll want to make sure you get the most out of your trip. That’s where this free walking tour comes in! Whether you’re here for a few hours or a few days, this tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the city's best spots while learning about its fascinating past.
1. Two Unique Tours for Every Type of Traveler
For those who want to check off the classic sights (because let’s be honest, we all do ...Moi aussi), the Old Quebec Tour will take you to the iconic spots like Petit Champlain, Château Frontenac, and the fortifications. And don’t worry, you won’t just see the same spots that everyone else talks about. I’ll show you few parts of the city that don’t usually make it onto the normal sightseing.. Whether you're here for a day or a week, this tour might just inspire you to completely rewrite your schedule – because, let's face it, you’ll probably want to do everything once you see how much you've been missing. If you’re more of the “I want to feel like a local” type , then my Quebec Like a Local Tour is perfect for you. This tour focuses on the Saint-Roch area, where I dig into the lesser-known, yet deeply fascinating, history of this vibrant neighborhood. And just so you know, it's not just talking about the past five years – its going also way back to the early days of New France. You’ll walk through history and discover parts of Quebec that even some locals forget exist.
No matter your interests, there’s a tour for you!
2. Meet a Local and fun certified tour guide
Imagine experiencing Quebec City through the eyes of a passionate local. Born and raised here, I offer a perspective you can’t get from a guidebook or a bored tour guide who’s already mentally vacationing in Bali. It’s been 10 years of guiding so far, and yes, I'm still excited to show you around! As a certified tour guide (Merici college), my mission is to make you fall in love with Quebec City as much as I have – no matter how many times I walk these streets.
Don't worry, I’m not bored of it yet! I make sure that each tour is as exciting and fresh as if it were my first time guiding. After all, what’s the point of showing people around if you can’t pretend it’s the first time you’ve seen that amazing view too? There many great tour guides in Québec city like me that are passionate about this work.I think you can do many activity in Quebec but you won't totally get the whole package without trying a walking tour.
For me, meeting someone is like welcoming a new neighbor or reconnecting with that long-lost cousin who never had the chance to visit Québec. It’s always an opportunity to show them around and make them feel at home in this amazing city.
3. Perfect for All Ages and Fitness Levels
Quebec City is known for its hills and stairs... but don’t panic – I keep a moderate pace that’s perfect for everyone! Whether you're traveling with toddlers, seniors, or someone in between, this tour is designed to accommodate all fitness levels (almost). You’ll walk between 5,500 and 7,000 feet (that’s about 2 miles), which, trust me, isn’t going to make you feel like you’re training for a marathon. It's a comfortable, enjoyable pace – no one’s breaking a sweat, unless you’re wearing a winter coat in July (that’s on you).
Many websites tell you to walk 10,000 feet a day to stay healthy, so this tour is practically a fitness program (not really). You’re welcome. I’ve had people from 2 years old to 85 years old join the tour, and they all made it – so I’m pretty sure you can handle it, too. No excuses!
4. Support a Local Charity with Your Tour
What makes this tour even better? A portion of the booking fee I receive goes directly to support a local charity. So, not only are you exploring Quebec City and the sights, you’re also giving back to the community. By joining the tour, you’re helping those who need it most. It’s a feel-good experience for you and for the people we’re helping.
Last December, we donated over $4,000 to a local community organization, La Bouchée Généreuse, which helps feed over 1,300 families every week. That’s right. You’re not just walking, you’re making the world a better place, one step at a time! One step...at the time (See what I did there? One step... at a time – I promise the puns are a part of the fun).
5. Make It the Highlight of Your Trip
This tour is designed to be the most memorable part of your visit. I’m dedicated to making sure you leave Quebec City with a deeper appreciation for the city’s charm and beauty. Whether you’re a history buff, a culture enthusiast, or just someone looking for a great experience (and maybe a break from your too busy schedule), this walking tour will surely be the highlight of your time here! Or, at least, I really hope so. No pressure, right? Pas vrai?

Plus, I’ll share local events that might be happening during your visit – things you won’t find in the typical guidebooks. lus, I’ll share local events happening during your visit – the kind of stuff guidebooks won’t mention, probably because they don’t know it exists. I love to find what things to do over the week.
